Optimism serves as a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum, facilitating support for all of Ethereum's Dapps. By placing all transaction data on-chain while managing computation off-chain, Optimism enhances Ethereum's transaction throughput and reduces fees.

Currently, Optimism is launching another airdrop in the fifth round of its campaign, distributing 10 million OP to over 54.000 qualified addresses. With a reserve of 550 million OP set aside for forthcoming airdrops, remaining active on Optimism could qualify users for future distributions.
