SUI Network
Sui is a platform for smart contracts that utilizes a group of validators who operate in a permissionless manner, similar to validators or miners in other blockchain systems.
Sui is designed for simple use cases, offering scalability and exceptionally low latency. This is achieved through the ability to process most transactions in parallel, making optimal use of processing resources and allowing for increased throughput by adding more resources.
Unlike traditional blockchain systems that use consensus, Sui uses simpler and lower-latency primitives for simple use cases such as payment transactions and asset transfers. This innovation enables a range of new distributed applications that are sensitive to latency, from gaming to retail payment at physical points of sale.
Sui is implemented in Rust and supports smart contracts written in Sui Move, which is a powerful asset-centric adaptation of Move for the Sui blockchain. Sui Move programs define operations on assets, including custom rules for the creation, transfer to new owners, and operations that mutate assets.
